Ravensbourne - BA (Hons) Advertising & Brand Design - Briefing & Initial Ideas
The next Live brief we were given was to create a video that would showcase the course that could be put on the website for the new prospectus and course name change.
For this project I worked with Charlotte, Banke and Adila. It was great to work with Charlotte as she is really organised and has great ideas.
From the start of this project we knew we wanted to have fun. We literally took the brief and ran with it, researching videos from agencies and searching how they would advertise the fact they were hiring and how they would make themselves seem attractable to potential employees.
We brainstormed a few ideas:
These ideas stemmed from a recurring insight that our course is a family, the tutors act as the fun uncles and dads you just want to impress as well as the guidance and feedback to help push our work that bit further. Plus all our fellow students our like our non biological brothers and sisters that we can have a laugh, banter and bounce ideas off of. Its also great because now we start to value each others opinions on ideas and what we could do. So we really wanted to encapsulate this. We wanted to be really ambitious and sarcastic which is the epitome of what happens in class.
The brief stated the client did not want the conventional showreal that would showcase all the student work. To tackle this we thought about making the video a mix of mediums from, typography to motion graphics, to film and video as well as a voice over.
