Reflection on Untitled

Overall I think we produced a really great project that had consistent branding and we stuck to our insight (once it was finally decided)

I have met a lot of new people during the project that I plan to collaborate and work with in the future. I have gained confidence when speaking to industry creatives, as I used to be really intimidated by people within the industry because I did not think me or my work were ready. Or take the leap to put myself out into the creative space. But clearly I have gained confidence in myself and my work, I even asked Rose to be mentor for me to try and start freelancing.

Ronans message: the Industry needs you as much as you need them and don't forget it because you need to know your worth and believe in yourself.

Although we were disappointed not to win the brief, I feel we have learnt so much more by being behind the scenes. We got to interview the speakers, listen to what they had to say. I networked throughout the day. I even produced sketches of three of the speakers as business cards with a link to my instagram and website. I thought a lot on my feet and was adaptable to idea changes and creative directions.

We had our ups and downs in the project but it was worth it in the end. As we went above and beyond the brief as we created a brand and project we wish to continue with, we want to interview more speakers and make it a channel that continues to inspire the next generation as much as it has inspired us.

One of the biggest lessons I have learnt form this project is to test ideas well in advance of when you need to do the real thing. As well as have a back up plan, because plans will not always work out, and planning ahead its great but sometime you need to improvise to put out fires and problems. Implementing our tests helped to inform our final outcome.

I learnt that I really enjoy creative direction as I can envision what I plan to create. I wanted to try and create a stop motion aspect to this project but with time constraints it would not have been completed to a great level of standard I work at. However, it would be a great idea to pursue as a side project?

In the summer I plan to shoot a student film where I have complete control of the shot and everything within it. Which would be great fun as I want to side step and deepen my knowledge in film production. Im going to Italy in Easter and hope to be inspired by that trip, as I plan to continue my photography and to fly my drone through the mountains and alps. I see it as a creative opportunity to explore new mediums.
