To establish my ideas I first established my insights. These are what informed my decision making. I set out a list of initial ideas based off of the insight of students living for the instagram moment. They go to art galleries to make their feeds look interesting and to show they are cultured within the arts. They may not care as much for the art compared to the image they are trying to construct for their followers.

I constructed mood boards influenced by my own personal experiences from interactive galleries, as I wanted to make a pop up styled event similar to that of the Canary Wharf winter lights, as this was a fully emmersive experience that harnessed the student instagram ideology. As we we went to the event all my friends wanted pictures with the light boxes, to then post on their instagram.

I knew I wanted to play on the human senses as we remember things more that impact our emotional state of being. We construct schemas from sound, touch, taste and smell. From further research I found that there are mental health disorders that are affect by places and environments. I wanted to play on this insight as students experience anxiety with deadlines and coursework. The pop-up would act as a stress relief with sound and calmness exploring a sensory gallery. I explored material and colour as a way of constructing the popup experience.

Other gallery experiences that influenced this idea were: Sense of Space (2018) and the Museum of Ice Cream in LA and Yaiyo Kushimas Gallery exhibition.
