YCN Art Fund Brief

I looked at the D&AD briefs as well as YCN as it was made clear that our competition brief needed to reflect our FMP choice of direction. As I had decided to base my FMP around being born with a Cleft Lip and Palate and raising awareness of it, I needed to pic a brief that reflect this some how. My choice came down between the D&AD Lad Bible brief and YCN Art Fund Brief. The Lad Bible brief was so open ended that I could hone in on the topic as a direction of social awareness and change. I also liked the direction of the Art Fund_ brief as it played on the seclusion of positive mental wellness and mental health. This reflects on my FMP and how being aware of the society around me affected how I felt about being born with a cleft. I found comfort within art because it allowed me to express myself when words failed me after operations.

I brainstormed ideas for both briefs as I could see routes for both. However I eventually settled on Art Fund, after speaking to Brian to do both briefs because one began to over power the other. As such Art fund was more interesting.

I began to break down the brief set and home into what they wanted. I started to brainstorm and test initial ideas and this linked to the brief.



Elementrix was created as MY Advertising blog for my Degree course At ravensbourn university.

I have always believed that to thrive in todays industry you need to bring your personality, sense of creativity but most importantly to be versatile in an ever changing industry !
